Advantages and Disadvantages of Private Label Rights

Using Private Label Rights (PLR) content is one of the many ways to make money online.

Just like any income generating opportunity, PLR has its advantages and disadvantages as well. As an online entrepreneur, it is very important to familiarize yourself with both.

One of the biggest advantages of Private Label Rights with resell rights is that you get to earn income by selling a product that you didn’t even create. With the right strategic approach, that can become fast money.

In some cases, you are allowed, and maybe even required, to modify the work and still claim it as your own. You could literally become a freelance writer or a software developer overnight with PLR.

The other advantage of Private Label Resell Rights it the flexibility you will have. PLR sellers get paid based on their marketing skill. In the beginning, you may have to spend a lot of time building your business, but in fact, a large number of Private Label Rights buyers are able to earn a great income selling their products working just a few hours a week.

There are disadvantages to Private Label Rights content.

Getting the best content can be expensive, but if you ask every PLR product seller, they’ve all purchased low-cost content that was also low-quality. The content is either not usable or requires massive editing.

Paying for high-quality content is well worth it.

Poor quality content will be dry and generic. The worse the quality, the more you’ll have to rewrite the content to make it your own. Sometimes, it’s best to view PLR as a blueprint for creating your own information.

If you decide to go with poorly done content without editing, you might end up losing a ton of money and destroying your customer relationships.

PLR content is non-exclusive. While many PLR vendors limit the number of licenses sold, you’re still buying content that hundreds, even thousands of others own. That’s why revising and making it your own is important.

Restrictions are normal for PLR content. These restrictions may arise based on the PLR license for a particular product.  For instance, you may not be allowed to offer the content free of charge (i.e. through your newsletter).

This is however seen more in Master Resale Rights (MRR) content. Be sure to read the license carefully.

Even though there are many disadvantages when buying PLR, most people find that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages — making this an easy way to start a profitable business venture.
